When Rishari first launched in 2021, the focus was intentional: provide branding and website design for founders who needed to look professional and get off the ground. It was the right-sized offering for where we were, running Rishari after hours while leading full-time marketing roles in B2B companies.
But we weren’t just designers. We were strategists, operators, and builders behind multi-channel campaigns, CRM systems, demand gen programs, and trade show experiences.
So we assumed, wrongly, that once these small businesses had a solid brand foundation, they’d scale with help from agile agencies or contractors.
But time and again, we saw the same frustrating pattern.
Founders were hiring vendors who launched campaigns with no real context. Agencies were pushing content and ads that led with product, not pain points. Freelancers were building funnels without any understanding of the audience. Furthermore, the work lacked empathy. It lacked strategy. And most importantly, it lacked trust-building, the most critical driver in B2B growth.
In many cases, there wasn’t even an effort to connect audience insights, brand positioning, and technology in a meaningful way. Clients were left without a clear picture of what was working, what wasn’t, and where they could proactively drive engagement. You can imagine how much stickiness, revenue, and opportunity were lost because of that disconnect.
Eventually, overwhelmed and under-supported, founders ended up trying to manage marketing themselves and fumbled their way through it.
These businesses didn’t need just any type of marketing.

We didn’t make this shift blindly. We listened to clients, dug into SMB and mid-market reports, and paid attention to how the B2B landscape continues to evolve.
Here’s what became clear:

- Events are back - but underutilized. Trade shows and in-person experiences are surging again, but most small teams don’t know how to turn them into meaningful lead generation or brand awareness. And when events underperform, execs assume they “don’t work”, when in reality, they may have picked the wrong event, showed up with the wrong message, or failed to generate any buzz beforehand.
